Since 2004, the World Blood Donor Day has been held every year on 14 June. On this occasion, our team went to donate blood the week before to help raise awareness of its importance and significance.
World Blood Donor Day was initiated by four major health organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Red Cross. The date is based on the birthday of the Austrian physician Karl Landsteiner who developed the ABO blood type system.
